I then reran the map updater from Garmin Lifetime Updater, which seems to works fine now, selected all North America and it asked me if I wanted to install the maps to an SD card? I accepted and the maps are now on the card. So I deleted the maps and filled up the internal memory by reinstalling all previously deleted Garmin files and then added more junk files taking up much of the memory. It installed the maps in the internal mem and only left me with about 9 megs of mem left. I wanted the new map to install to my SD card on the 1450LMT but it never really gave me a choice that I readily picked up on during the process. I get a box that staes to sd card or to the nuvi and my mac but only the change maps is highlighted and can't change to the sd or mac That's why I always put the card in a reader where the SD card appears as a separate device in the Find Device field. Even if you figure that out, it's difficult, at least for me, to figure out how to get the maps on the card instead of going to the Nuvi. It can be a bit difficult to direct an update to the SD card if it's installed in the Nuvi as you see the GPS in the Find Device field but can't see that the entry also says +SD card at the end of it unless you click the down arrow mentioned above. Select it and the update will go directly to the card. Click on the arrow and you should see your SD card listed. Just to the right of the Nuvi listing is a "down arrow". Below that the Nuvi will be listed, if you have it connected to your computer. To put multiple areas on your gps device, rename the file gmapsupp.img (e.g. Unpack OFM(EU2023_x_GPS).zip and copy the garmin folder with gmapsupp.img on a (micro) SD-card For easier installation Javawa GMTK is recommended. Windows users can also use this gmap version: unpack the zip file and move the OFM(EU2023-mm-dd).gmap folder to the default Garmin map folder. Double-click on the OFM(EU2023-mm-dd).gmap folder to run Garmins Mapmanager or start Garmin Mapmanager and find the OFM(EU2023-mm-dd).gmap folder to install it Mac OSX: Make sure Garmin Basecamp is installed and closed Also MapInstall and MapManager for the Mac must be installed. You can simply move the map another location with a file manager and run install.exe again to update Basecamp/Mapsource register. Read the tips & tricks section how to use the maps Sometimes you need to disable your anti-virus software when installing. Ignore anti-virus warnings, they are false positive. Depending on your windows configuration, you need to right-click install file and run as Administrator.
